Solid Start for Gisela Dulko in Morocco
Posted by Gisela Dulko Fan on 10:05 AM · 0 comments
Gisela Dulko played a great match against her ex doubles partner Maria Elena Camerin.
Dulko defeated Camerin easily with a double 6-1.
Dulko showed a very solid game, attacking specially with the forehand.
At the end of the match Gisela Dulko said it was tough for her to play against a friend and that her next match against Loit will be difficil but her and her coach will play the match and hopefully this time she will be the winner (Gisela lost to lout last year the last time they played).
In doubles Gisela Dulko and Betina Jozame lost in the first round 6-7 3-6. Continue reading HERE!

Gisela Dulko in great form - Agrneina defeated Germany 3-2 in Fed Cup
Article and interview from fedcup.com
Interview with Gisela Dulko (ARG) - day 2 - Here
Ricardo Rivera, Argentina’s captain, had said yesterday that whoever won the third singles would be in a good position to win the tie. Gisela Dulko and Martina Muller entered the court in order to confirm or dismiss Rivera’s prediction.
Dulko managed to push fiercely over Muller’s scarcely effective serve, and the results proved her right. When Dulko was winning 62 4-1 in the second set Muller raised her game and broke to equalise the score, but the Argentine star felt the pressure and managed to keep ahead until winning 62 64.
“I think her serve is the weakest part of her game,” Dulko said. “I was calm during all the game and managed to go ahead. I never felt nervous; when (Muller) equalised in the second set, I knew what had happened, so I knew what to do to overcome it.”

Germany's Martina Muller lost just one game on her way to victory over Jorgelina Cravero 61 60. This result has levelled the scores at 1-1 at the end of the first day of play in Buenos Aires.
Earlier Gisela Dulko gave Argentina a 1-0 advantage after defeating Sabine Lisicki in the opening rubber of the play-off tie. World No. 47 Dulko took just over an hour to win the match in straight sets 62 62.

Argentina and Germany are In the mood
Article and Audio interview from www.fedcup.com
Interview with Ricardo Rivera (ARG) - Here
Both teams were in a happy mood during the draw and press conference. The German team stayed at the Argentinean team press conference, and actually commented on some of their opponents answers, making the Argentineans laugh and the press smile, setting up a nice moment in a situation that is usually more serious.
Argentina surprised everyone by picking Jorgelina Cravero as the second singles player, instead of Maria-Emilia Salerni, who is the usual No. 2 after Dulko. Salerni confirmed she has had a problem with her right ankle for the last five or six weeks.
“It’s like a pain that comes and goes. The idea is to be careful with it so I can be 100% fit for whenever Ricardo (Rivera, Argentina’s captain) really needs me,” she said.
Rivera appeared confident, but cautious. “Both teams are very equaled, so both may win. We have the home advantage, and we play well in clay, but the weekend will show who gets the best of it.”

Gisela Dulko Relax for opener

Gisela Dulko relaxed for opener
Dulko and Cravero were quite practical regarding the order of play. “It’s the same for me to play first or second,” Dulko said. “But I usually go and play first, so I thought there was no reason to be different right now.”
“Playing in second place is good and bad, from different points of view,” Cravero said. “Let’s hope the good prevails.”
The match is being played in Pilar, 60km away from Buenos Aires, in a very nice and quiet countryside club. This, and the fact that men’s tennis is more popular in all of South America, especially in Argentina, are factors that cause lower attendances than those of the Davis Cup matches played in Argentina.
“I know we do not gather as much people as the Davis Cup does,” confessed Betina Jozami. “But I’m sure we will manage to have a good attendance to support us this weekend.” Continue reading HERE!

Gisela Dulko failed to Serena Williams in Charleston

Gisela Dulko failed to Serena Williams in Charleston
Gisela Dulko could not find her serve agains Serena and couldn't take advantage of the break points she had but still was a good tornament for her were she started to get back on track.
I will leave you here some coments about Gisela's game and the match agains Serena Williams from Diane who was at the tournament and kindly shared her comments about it. You can check all her reports from Charleston on her Blog Women Who Serve
Diane Comment on Gisela's game vs Molik (1st Round)
"In short, she kicked ass. Gisela served so well throughout the match, pretty much neutralizing the strength of Molik's serve. She did some pretty hard hitting, too; her groundstrokes were clean and accurate. She also hit several great drop volleys, and did a lot of change-ups that caused Molik to make errors. Gisela was also in much better shape, probably because of Molik's recent injury layoff. I was cheering for Gisela all the way, and was quite happy with the outcome. I spoke to her briefly afterwards, just to compliment her on her fine serving."
Comments on Gisela Dulko vs Serena Williams (Second Round)
"Finally we saw Serena Williams play Gisela Dulko in a match that did not adequately reflect the strengths of either player. They had never played each other before, and the first set was awkward and unattractive, with Williams getting broken three times, and her oppenent getting broken four times. Dulko, who--yesterday--had served practically perfectly--could not find her first serve often enough tonight, and also lost her very good second serve. Still, she was able to pick up her serve a bit in the second set, and was broken only once. Williams served five aces in that set.
The second set was fun to watch, and contained some thrilling rallies. Williams' return of serve was sharp and sometimes deadly, and Dulko used backhand topspin to her advantage, as well as her ability to hit on-the-mark drop volleys. We wanted another set, but it was over after two, with Williams winning, 6-3, 6-4."
Thanks Diane for the repports.

Gisela Dulko failed in Amelia Island Second Round
Posted by Gisela Dulko Fan on 2:51 PM · 0 comments
Gisela Dulko had a tough second round at Amelia Island and was very close to cause an upset by defeating Agnieszka Radwanska.
Gisela failed in 3 set, in the 3rd she saved match points being 3-5 down and got things even at 5 all, then they went into a tie break where Radwanska took the match.
I read that Gisela made many errors but I want to point out that this time Gisela fought very hard during the match and that's a good sign that tells as she wants to be back and I'm sure she will in the next couple of week.
Good Luck Gisela !! Continue reading HERE!

Gisela Dulko at the Miami Sony Ericsson Open
Hi guys... sorry for not posting during the last couple of weeks... I was first on vacation then when to the Sony Ericsson for a couple of days and then I had lots of things to do with work and home but I hope I will get the time to update Gisela Dulko's blog more often.
As you might know Gisela lost in the first round at the Miami Sony ericsson against Tatiana Perebiynis in 2 sets, 64 76.
I was surprised at Gisela's game... she always was a agresive player, hitting hard but this time she was the contrary, specially during the first couple of game, she was passing the ball and making many mistakes. I'm not an expert in Tennis but that's the way I saw her playing. I hope Gisela can find her game soon and to see her climbing the ranking to where she belong.
Good Luck Gise :) Continue reading HERE!
