It was a very bad hard court season start for Gisela Dulko.
She was defeated in the first round of Stanford by Michelle Larcher de Brito, who is ranked 226 in the WTA rankings, in 2 sets 7-5 y 7-6 (7-1), the match lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes.

Larcher de Brito, is consider the future of women's tennis, and now will face Serena Williams.

Gisela Dulko felt at doubles as well, she was playing with Shahar Peer and they were the 3rd seed, but they lost in a super tie break

The main draw for Stanford was made today along with the qualy draw.

Serena Williams is the top seed, she has a Bye in the first round and in the second she could meet Gisela Dulko or a Qualifier.

Anna Chakvetadze, second seed, Vera Zvonareva, 3rd seed, and Daniela Hantuchova, 4th seed, also recieved a free pass to the second round.

Other seed player in Stanford are: Patty Schnyder, Francesca Schiavone, Nadia Petrova and Marion Bartoli.
